Founded in 1985, as the first school of continuing education approved by the
then State Education Commission (Ministry of Education), now the School of
Continuing Education of Tsinghua University has been committed to providing
continuing education and distance training. At present, SCE mainly provides
training programs for governmental officials and leaders of public service and the
Party, for senior administrative personnel of enterprises, for international
cooperation and for certification of occupational skills. Over 10,000 people
attend its on-the-job training programs every year.
Training programs for senior administrators provide courses in various fields,
including public administration, enterprise management, engineering management,
financial, public service and health management, advertising and media, culture
and art, real estate, automobile industry, agriculture etc. Up till now, SCE
has established cooperative relationships with some first-class universities
from the US, the UK, France, Sweden, Australia etc. in joint education programs,
university foundation training, International Engineering Management
Certification, etc. And it has introduced many excellent education resources in
administration of industry and business, international business, financial,
touring and hotel management, human resources, accounting management and
international engineering management, etc. In the future, the field of
international cooperation will be extended and new ways of cooperation in
education will be developed.
Education for special skills certificate training in the School of Continuing
Education covers the field of Tsinghua IT engineering certification, digital
media, games and animation, language and culture, etc.
The School has established a group of 1435 part-time teachers by the
end of 2005. |
