Mankind
has stepped into a new knowledge economy era. With the rapid development of
science and technology, as well as the continuing progression in society and
culture, the importance of lifelong education and lifelong learning is being
recognized by more and more people. The growing conflict between the increasing
demands of learning and insufficient resources of higher education has posed
great challenges to the traditional education system. It has become Tsinghua's
duty as well as motivation to promote educational reform of universities and
colleges to provide lifelong education and to enhance its socialization.
The School of Continuing Education (SCE) of Tsinghua University takes
the responsibility of serving the society and tries to maximize the social
influence of her good education resources. The School, relying on the
excellent faculty of the University as well as its solid research strength
and extensive international cooperation, provides multi-level and
high-quality educational programs by using modern technologies. She is
striving to promote the renewal of knowledge and improve the overall quality
of people, contributing to the construction of lifelong education system and
a society of learning.
