Modern distance education is a new concept both in China and abroad.
In order to exchange the positive experiences of distance education,
advance in-depth research on education philosophy, belief, content,
approach, transmission means, and management, SCE has worked with
many institutes to organize various seminars and conferences. They
include:
1999！International Conference on Distance Education, Distance Learning
and Education Development in the 21st Century. There were 74 participants
from more than ten countries, with 77 papers submitted.
1999 ！ High-level Seminar on Modern Distance Education. Attending
were 44 learners from different colleges, universities and scientific
research institutions in China.
July 2000！Inaugural Meeting of National Modern Distance Education
Coordination Organization of Chinese Colleges and Universities.
November 2000！Conference on teaching and education management, held
by the National Modern Distance Education Coordination Organization
of Chinese Colleges & Universities.
March 2001！ Conference on technical support held by the National Modern
Distance Education Coordination Organization of Chinese Colleges and
Universities.
March 2001！Conference on Software Exchange of New Century Network
Course Construction Project-Modern Distance Education Supporting Environment.
July 2001！Forum on the Diploma Education Management of the School
of Network Education of Modern Distance Education in the Pilot Universities.
July 2002！2002 Work Meeting of National Modern Distance Education
